Mold Remediation FAQs

Can mold cause health problems?

Yes, mold can cause symptoms similar to the symptoms of allergies and respiratory issues, although some people are more affected than others. Do not panic, but it is in your best interest to have a certified professional examine the potential issue.

Can I kill mold with bleach?

No, mold cannot be killed with bleach and must be mechanically removed because bleach will often only kill mold on a surface, but not its roots. Another reason this will not work is that part of the remediation process is figuring out why mold was present in the first place and changing conditions, so it does not grow back.

How long does it take mold to grow?

Depending on the conditions of the space, such as humidity and airflow, mold can grow in 72 hours.

Water Restoration FAQs

What do I do if I have standing water in my building?

Be careful, do not go into rooms that have standing water and electrical appliances. Contact a water damage/restoration professional as soon as possible.

Is how long water has been standing in a room important?

Yes. The longer materials in a room remain wet, the more damage will be done to them, and the longer the drying process will be.

How long will the drying process take?

The amount of time the drying process takes depends on what type of material is wet and the amount of time it has been exposed to water. We will do our best to make sure your property is dried as quickly as possible.

Crawl Space FAQs

Is a vapor barrier necessary?

Yes, vapor barriers prevent moisture from the ground underneath the crawl space from entering the crawl space and causing mold to grow.

What can I do to prevent mold in my crawl space?

Installing a vapor barrier, improving ventilation, and sealing your crawl space are all ways to help prevent mold growing in your crawl space.

Why do I have mold in my crawl space?

Mold is always present, but moisture in a crawl space can allow it to grow.

Is sealing my crawl space necessary?

Sealing your crawl space with an antimicrobial sealer helps eliminate a mold problem for a long time.

What is Encapsulation?

Encapsulation is the process of sealing treated materials with a mold killing primer to protect the different parts of your crawlspace.

Radon Mitigation FAQs

What is radon?

Radon is a naturally-occurring radioactive gas that can cause lung cancer. Radon gas is inert, colorless and odorless.

What is a radon mitigation system?

A Radon Mitigation system is any system or steps designed to reduce radon concentrations in the indoor air of the building. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends that you take action to reduce your home’s indoor radon levels if your radon test result is 4 pCi/L or higher.
